🌧️ How Much Sediment Does a Flood Bring?

In this video, we use STE to simulate rainfall, flooding, and sediment movement across the Khormarood watershed. The results show how much sediment is eroded from upstream and transported downstream—eventually threatening infrastructure like the Narmab Dam.
💡 This work is part of a research project focused on finding practical solutions to reduce sediment inflow into reservoirs. By modeling how different land management strategies affect sediment transport, we can make better, data-driven decisions to protect dams and extend their lifespan.
STE provides an accessible and accurate way to visualize and analyze complex watershed behavior—from rainfall to sediment deposition.
