This guide walks you through downloading, installing, and setting up STE on your computer — step by step.
Step 1: Download STE #
- Visit the official STE download page:

- The latest version of STE
- A short description and release notes
- A Download button
- We’ve also included a few example projects you can download to explore STE’s features.
Step 2: Install the Software #
- Once the installer is downloaded, right-click the file and select
“Run as administrator” to start the setup. - In the installer:
- Accept the License Agreement and click Next.
- Choose the installation folder (or leave the default location) and click Next.
- Click Install to begin.
- Installation will complete within a few seconds.
- Click Finish — this will:
- Add a shortcut to your desktop
- Launch STE automatically
Step 3: First-Time Setup #
- On the first run, STE will ask you to select a drive to store temporary files.
- Choose a drive with at least 20 GB of free space.
- Click Select to confirm your choice.
⚠️ Important: STE requires an active internet connection to log in and access features.
Step 4: Create Your Free STE Account #
- On the login screen, click the “Sign Up” link (bottom-right).
- Fill in the following fields:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Email address (must be valid and accessible)
- A password (minimum 6 characters)
- Optional profile information
- Enter the CAPTCHA code from the image.
- Click Sign Up.
A 6-digit verification code will be sent to your email.
Step 5: Verify Your Account & Log In #
- Enter the verification code in STE.
- Your account will be created and login credentials saved to your email.
- Return to the login screen and enter your:
- Email (as your username)
- Password
- (Optional) Check “Remember Me” to store your credentials and skip login next time.
Troubleshooting #
- If you don’t receive the verification code:
- Check your spam/junk folder.
- If still missing, click the Resend button (available every 2 minutes).
- If you see an error related to
Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0:- STE requires the Microsoft Access Database Engine.
