We’re happy to announce the release of STE v7.1.1, bringing a wide range of performance improvements, new algorithms, and expanded analysis tools across 1D, 2D, and GIS workflows.
🔧 Key Improvements & New Features in v7.1.1
This release focuses on speed, robustness, and deeper hydraulic diagnostics:
• Faster Genetic Algorithm performance
• New junction-finder algorithm for improved subcatchment delineation
• Plotting support for gridded precipitation time series
• Improved Particle Tracing algorithm
🌊 Cross-Section & 1D Enhancements
• New planar and non-planar automatic cross-section extraction algorithm that prevents self-intersection
• Right and left overbank definition during cross-section extraction
• Extracting streamlines from cross sections
• Line intersection point detection
• Major improvements in 1D methods and cross-section management
• Added 1D SKM velocity and 2D SKM velocity outputs
• New 1D solvers added to Real-Time Flood Mapper (Gradually Varied Flow & Energy Equation)
• Channel/Dike Designer now supports using 1D cross sections directly for channel and dike design
🧭 GIS & STEGIS Improvements
• Compressed raster outputs in STEGIS to reduce file size while preserving read/write speed
• New methods added to Elevation Harmonizer
• Ability to manage stored data directly in shapefile attribute tables
